New funding opportunity aims to build and expand Early Learning Facilities in King County

The Department of Community and Human Services is excited to share a new funding opportunity to support the construction of new Early Learning Facilities (ELF) or the expansion of existing facilities.

Funding is available through the Puget Sound Taxpayer Accountability Account (PSTAA) General Child Care Facilities Fund. This RFP is aimed at expanding and strengthening the early learning system in King County.  Applications for the Request for Proposals (RFP) posted by Enterprise Community Partners, Inc. are due Friday, December 6, 2024 at 8:59PM PT. Find more information here.

PSTAA expands and strengthens equitable supports for youth in our region. As directed by the King County Council, PSTAA funds support investments for early learning facilities, K-12 community-based supports, as well as college, career, and technical education.

PSTAA was created as an amendment to the 2015 State Transportation Revenue Package by the Washington State Legislature and directs that Sound Transit 3-related funds be used to improve educational outcomes. To learn more about PSTAA legislation and the community engagement process, check out the King County Council PSTAA web page.

A similar funding opportunity is currently open through Best Stars for Kids Capital program. More information can be found here.
