A new RFP is now open seeking a Logistics Coordinator to help launch King County’s Trusted Leaders Network, a key part of the Crisis Care Centers initiative’s commitment to community.
The Crisis Care Centers Levy is transforming how people access behavioral health crisis care and is centering equity all along the way. The Trusted Leaders Network—and the Logistics Coordinator who supports it—will bring community voices directly into how the county evaluates and improves crisis services, especially for people most affected by behavioral health inequities.
This coordinator position and network are key parts of a robust oversight and accountability foundation that King County is building to help ensure the new crisis system is shaped by the people who use it, honors community priorities and meets the community’s needs. DCHS received extensive community feedback about the importance of centering health equity and creating ongoing opportunities to participate in defining and measuring the initiative’s success.
Through the Trusted Leaders Network, communities will inform DCHS Behavioral Health and Recovery Division (BHRD) about ways that King County’s crisis services are, or are not, accessible and helping people. The Logistics Coordinator is critical to ensuring the success of the Trusted Leaders Network.
The Crisis Care Centers Levy’s Behavioral Health Equity Framework
The levy considers behavioral health inequities based on factors that include, but are not limited to, race and ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, language preference, age, ability, geographic location, housing status, income and socioeconomic status, type of insurance, people with legal system involvement, survivors of gender-based violence or human trafficking, child or adult protective service involvement, military veterans, immigrants, and refugees. Clinical factors also underly inequities, including stigma related to mental health, substance use, co-occurring physical and/or cognitive conditions, and other factors.
What the Logistics Coordinator Will Do
The coordinator will be the operational hub for the Trusted Leaders Network. Their work includes:
- Recruiting and subcontracting about 15 Trusted Leaders across the four Crisis Response Zones and youth communities through an open and equitable process.
- Handling onboarding, contracts, payments, and reporting.
- Coordinating meetings, communication, and day‑to‑day logistics.
- Facilitating Trusted Leaders collecting and reporting community input and data.
- Supporting ongoing recruitment and helping sustain the network long‑term.
- Working with DCHS and Trusted Leaders to define expectations and deliverables.
- Providing administrative and project management support to maintain, track, and coordinate Trusted Leader deliverables and documentation.
The role is administrative, relationship‑focused and essential for ensuring the network runs smoothly and equitably.
Trusted Leaders
Approximately 15 Trusted Leaders will be selected to act as liaisons to the county’s communities and the broader crisis services system in King County. Trusted Leaders may be independent individuals and/or individual representatives of community-based organizations (CBOs). These leaders will serve as conduits to communities within each of the four (4) Crisis Response Zones (CRZ), youth populations, those with living/lived behavioral health or crisis systems experience, communities experiencing behavioral health inequities, and the broader King County communities.
