Early Friday morning, December 20th, an adult man was found dead at the overnight shelter at the King County Administration Building. At this time, there is no reason to believe there was foul play. The King County Medical Examiner’s Office will confirm cause of death and identity of the man.
Shelter staff discovered an unresponsive man early this morning and alerted King County Security and called 911. Security staff attempted to revive the man with an automated external defibrillator (AED). Seattle Police and medics arrived quickly, but they were unable to revive the man.
The King County Administration Building shelter serves 50 single men overnight each night and is operated by the Salvation Army. We extend our sympathy to the man’s family and everyone who is struggling with homelessness.
