Three Health Through Housing sites moved a step closer to implementation today with the announcement of the selection of the community-based organizations that will coordinate the 24/7 onsite operations at each location. The former Holiday Inn on Aurora and the former Extended Stay America on Stone Avenue, both in North Seattle, will be operated by the Downtown Emergency Service Center (DESC). The former Extended Stay America in Renton will be operated by Catholic Community Services.
The next steps are for the selected service organizations to begin their hiring processes to assemble staff to provide a range of 24/7 services and supports for the residents who will make one of the three hotels their new home. The operators will also work to engage local area residents and city leaders as the planning for occupancy takes shape. All three will open sometime in fall 2021.
