This program will attempt to prevent youth suicide through increased and supported organizational implementation of the evidence-based Zero Suicide (ZS) systemic suicide care program model in the King County region.

This RFP is funded by King County’s MIDD Behavioral Health Sales Tax, a county-wide 0.1% sales tax that specifically supports programs and services for people living with or at risk of behavioral health conditions.
Overview
The Zero Suicide Initiative Pilot Program (ZSIPP) will provide up to 16 funding and participation access awards to eligible applicant organizations.
ZSIPP awardee organizations will receive up to $10,400 each in deliverable-based task payments and access to participate in Pre and Post Zero Suicide Academy (ZSA) support meetings, two (2) full-days ZSA training, and nine (9) months of Communities of Practice (CoP) learning meetings to assist work on coordinated implementation of ZS.
Awarded organization must provide a four (4) person team to participate in ZSIPP. This team must consist of at least one (1) senior leader/manager with authority to implement and make organization wide decisions. The team will participate in the ZSIPP as described in this RFA, on behalf of the awarded organization. Awarded organizational leadership shall wholly support their ZSIPP team to fully participate in all scheduled ZSIPP deliverable activities.
Free technical assistance (TA) may be made available to ZSIPP participants on various topics and experiential challenges, but participation in TA is not a required or a paid deliverables task.
DCHS will contract with the Zero Suicide Institute (ZSI) at the Educational Resource Center (ERC), to provide the ZSIPP awardee programming, which includes the Pre/Post ZSA support meetings, a ZSA, CoP learning meetings, and TA.
Eligibility
1. Organization is a youth-serving medical healthcare or behavioral healthcare organization in King County, WA, with an interest in implementing ZS.
2. Organization must be able to provide a four (4) person ZSIPP team to fully participate in the ZSIPP as described in this RFA, including at least one (1) senior leader/management with authority to implement decisions (e.g., CEO, COO, Medical Doctor, CIO, ED) to support ZSIPP activities.
