At the Department of Community & Human Services (DCHS), we work toward every resident having the opportunity to be healthy, happy, and connected to community—a major element of which is connecting community to mental health care and wellness.

We are excited to announce that up to $2,120,000 in funding is available from the MIDD Behavioral Health Sales Tax Fund for Community Driven Behavioral Health Grants to provide culturally responsive behavioral health services delivered by small organizations embedded in their community.

The RFP seeks to support community-driven approaches that reflect the unique needs, strengths, experiences, and values of the populations served. Priority will be given to proposals that offer alternatives to traditional behavioral health models, particularly those rooted in culturally grounded, community-defined healing practices.

Proposals must align with one of more of the ten key themes identified in King County’s 2025 Be Heard: Community Voices about Mental Health and Wellness listening project. Read more about the Be Heard Listening Project in this recent DCHS blog post here or in the full RFP.

Up to 14 agencies will be awarded, with an average award of $150,000 per organization for the entire funding period of 24 months.

Apply by 2:00pm on September 11, 2025. To apply and for more information, see the full RFP on ZoomGrants here: https://www.zoomgrants.com/zgf/Community_Driven_Behavioral_Health_Grants_MIDD_SI-01
