On Veterans Day each year we have the opportunity to honor veterans, servicemembers and their families and to speak up for those who put their lives on the line for their fellow Americans. Veterans Day is an important day to remember and share our appreciation for the sacrifices veterans have made and continue to make.
On behalf of the Department of Community and Human Services and the King County Veterans Program, and as a veteran myself, I want to say thank you. To all veterans of all branches, past and present: Thank you for your bravery, commitment and your service to this country. We owe you our gratitude but more than that we owe you our freedom.
The King County Veterans Program (KCVP) resolves to not only thank veterans on Veterans Day but to serve veterans, servicemembers and their families all year long with the dignity and respect they deserve.
Since last Veterans Day KCVP’s Seattle office has a new home. Formerly located in Belltown, KCVP Seattle is now located in Northgate. A relocation to Northgate helps KCVP expand outreach efforts to diverse communities and creates a new service access point for north-end residents. The new location is easily accessible by car and is located across the street from the Northgate Transit Center, providing veterans, servicemembers and their families a variety of transportation options.
If you or a veteran, servicemember or family member that you know, is in need please refer them to the King County Veterans Program. KCVP can help veterans with emergency support, employment, housing stability, financial stability, civil legal issues and physical and mental health resources.
Call (206) 477-7022 to reach our Tukwila location or (206) 477-8282 to reach our Seattle location. You can also find more information on our website at kingcounty.gov/veterans.

To all veterans in King County, may Veterans Day and every day bring you joy in the freedoms our country has because of your sacrifices.
Sincerely,
Leon Richardson
Adult Services Division Director
