Severe Weather Emergency Shelter Services Extended to January 16th

The King County Department of Community and Human Services is extending its expansion of 50 additional emergency shelter beds at the King County Administration Building in light of continued freezing temperatures and snow.

King County’s Severe Weather Shelter will be open Thursday night, January 16th, with expanded capacity for 50 people who identify as men. 

The Severe Weather Shelter is located at the King County Administration Building located at 500 4th Avenue in downtown Seattle.

The shelter serves people who identify as men, age 18 and older from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM.  People may go directly to the shelter, referral forms are NOT required. 

The shelter is an emergency, mat on floor shelter operated by Salvation Army staff.
