Best Starts for Kids Cancels Summit Announcement

By: Best Starts for Kids

Best Starts for Kids Community Partners and Friends:

We have decided to voluntarily postpone the Best Starts for Kids Summit scheduled to take place this Friday, March 6th.

We appreciate the excitement and enthusiastic responses to our first Best Starts for Kids Summit. We were looking forward to hosting an incredible event, however as a cautionary measure, in response to the COVID-19 outbreak, we now plan to host the Summit later this year.

Best Starts for Kids believes in putting our community first. We say it in our tagline—we want all kids and families to be happy, healthy, safe and thriving. Your health, the health of the children and families we serve, is one of our top priorities. Given the current environment and Public Health-Seattle & King County’s encouragement of social distancing to help prevent the spread of COVID-19, we feel that postponing is a conservative, but reasonable response.

We are considering a new date in July for the Best Starts for Kids Summit.  We hope to have an announcement next week along with instructions about registration.

In lieu of the summit, Best Starts for Kids will host a Facebook Live discussion featuring Sheila Capestany and special guests on Friday, March 6 at 11 a.m. via our BSK Facebook page. We hope you will join us for this exciting and interactive event.

We also encourage you to follow Public Health- Seattle & King County and their messaging about COVID-19.

Thank you for your continued partnership and your commitment to children and families in King County.
