Funding opportunity: $50,000 to Provide Services to Immigrant and Refugee Families in Kent

The Department of Community and Human Services is pleased to release a Request For Proposals (RFP) with up to $50,000 in funding to provide services to immigrant and refugee families in Kent. This is a six-month grant between July 1 – December 31, 2022.  

About 

As our region continues to respond to and recover from the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, this RFP seeks a community-based organization (CBO) to provide culturally and linguistically appropriate social services to immigrant and refugee families, youth, and children in Kent. This RFP will support programs that provide access to healthy food and promote youth development, early learning, and health and wellness. 

Applicants to this RFP should propose a program model that includes a combination of the following:  

  • Provide culturally and linguistically attuned public health and vaccine information.  
  • Offer culturally appropriate food assistance, such as stocking foodbanks with foods that are healthy and culturally appropriate for immigrant and refugee families in Kent.  
  • Distribute baby essentials such as diapers, baby wipes, formula and baby food. 
  • Culturally and linguistically competent staff. Staff should have community relationships and experience that allow them to provide these services. 

The request is open to nonprofit organizations, community-based organizations, tribes, and tribal organizations and public or governmental agencies serving communities in King County. Small non-profits and community-based organizations are encouraged to submit a proposal. Applicants must demonstrate an ability to serve immigrant and refugee families in Kent (please refer to the RFP document on ZoomGrants for full list of eligibility criteria).
